Hey Glitter, whatcha doin?
Got anything to show off, even if it has nothing whatsoever to do with the usual Glitter-like topics?
I just helped produce a short YouTube video promoting what we do at work. If you have an eagle eye, you can glimpse me in the background for about a quarter second, which I didn't even realize was in it until today when I looked precisely for that reason. _________________ "Struggle is obsolete." -- my friend Barbara |

my braggy news:
partner & i have been doing a little food stand biz thang for the last few months, mostly at markets on weekends and some private catering events.... it's been super successful for what it is (hour long line ups at events for lil ol us!) and last week we signed a lease for a permanent spot in a communal indie food court in kensington market!!!!! (cool, small scale, community oriented neighhourhood with loads of food, vintage shops, etc).
my guy is able to quit his day job and work on our biz full time!!! freedom!!!! cooking his own recipes!!!! NO BOSSES!
we open on september 1st (hopefully if all renovations are finished), so if any of you are hungry in toronto... _________________ THE MUNDANE IS TO BE CHERISHED |

I lasted two whole laps in the Tuesday training criterium tonight. The criterium is tough - it's all men who are a few levels above me in racing. Sometimes there's another girl and sometimes it's just me. Imagine this, but with me in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCF21vPhSAE
I usually last about a lap and then I sit a lap out. Sometimes I can't even catch them after my rest lap and I do a lap by myself. Today I did two doubles and was able to catch them every time I needed to! Progress! I hope by this time next year I'll be able to last the whole hour and the year after I'll be able to attack. _________________ Well, duh, but that's no reason to abandon ship. Work and fix it

| Wow, everyone! Congratulations! It feels like fall is becoming the season of 'Starting Amazing Things'. My two closest IRL friends have bought a house, and started grad school respectively in the last two weeks. I, myself, have completed the only sort-of goal I've had in the last several years - I start a new job in 2 weeks! (I've been at my current job for 7 years, and I wanted to be somewhere else before I turned 30 in November). |

Loosey, are you at the very end, in a green dress? I could be totally off, but that's my best guess!
I finished this a month ago, BUT, I knit this blanket for my friends' baby. They didn't find out the sex, and little BL (BabyLastname) is due any time! (Mama hit full term today!)
The blanket is folded in half and in baby's crib here. The colors repeat back out from the middle (the yellow is the center stripe, then the dark green, light green, and yellow). Probably my best project to date, although that's true of everything I do since I'm on the beginning end of intermediate, I think! _________________ With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. |

Ooh, Milyssa, you've got an eagle eye! Yep, that was me in green, unintentionally in the shot!
That's a gorgeous baby blanket, too. And congrats to artichoke and bookselves. Can't wait to hear more from both of you about your new ventures! _________________ "Struggle is obsolete." -- my friend Barbara |

Wow! Awesome awesomeness coming from all over glitter these days!
Kitchen, I'm back and forth between Toronto and London (Ontario) for the next few months so I will definitely have to come by your new place! I love me a Moonbeam latte in the sunshine on Sunday morning. Ahhh I'm so homesick!! Can't wait to be back in Canada next week :)
I guess my happy news is related to being back home since I officially passed my first year review of my Phd and now get to do my fieldwork while living at home with my Dad and hanging out with my family all the time! I love Edinburgh, but I know I'll be back in six months anyways. Life is so good right now. |

not anywhere near as exciting or brag-worthy as all of your accomplishments....but here goes anyway:
i was the first dancer at work to be featured in their new blog! it's pretty geeky, but i enjoyed it nonetheless _________________ 'Where do you get your ideas from?'
