Again, thank you all for your vibes. Miff has arrived at the stage where she's consistently miffed (hence the name) - at the moment mostly about being stuck in a crate, about having poopyfarts, about us stopping her from escaping, and about everything that is wrong with the world. So she's pretty much back to her old self in terms of personality, and that's such a relief! I was afraid she'd be changed forever, her character is already shining through. And it's not even been a week! _________________ The plural of anecdote is not data.

So our Miffers went to the vet yesterday for her check-up. She's been trying to stand, but her right back leg is weird. She stands on her knuckles and drags her paw. The vet said this is an indication of (irreversible) nerve damage. He couldn't say whether it would improve or not, but in the worst case scenario she will never run, jump or leap again. Which would mean no more playing on the roof, and no more being alphakitty.
But then today she seemed to stand up properly on that foot a few times. So we are hopeful that this means she won't have to become a floorbound, indoor cat. But we're not sure.
Since your vibes have helped so much lately, could you maybe spare a few more? We want Miffs to be able to strut like the queen that she is! _________________ The plural of anecdote is not data.

She's standing on her wonky foot just like she should! I mean, she's still mostly laying around being waited on hand and foot, but when she needs to transport her butt to the poopyspace she appears to stand on her wonky foot properly about 8 times out of 10. This cat is so resilient, it's utterly amazing!
Here is Miffy showing off how comfy she is now that her pelvis is almost healed, and her gratitude for all of your vibes (and also how profoundly she is enjoying the whole being waited on hand and foot thing):

| Hooray for Miffy! And for you and your girlfriend, WorkandPlay, for taking such good care of her. I'm glad it looks like she'll be ruling the roost again soon. |
