There was a thread about this when the site first came up and went beta, but it is now open to everyone. I just put in my membership request and haven't yet been activated so I don't really know what's going on there, but I've heard a lot about it on another site.

We can all be friends! I'm CatNewt11649, or at least will be when I'm activated.

(The site chooses your name for you so people don't choose dirty names, since it's a kid friendly site.)

I just got registered too and am sort of looking around. My username is QuaffleDust166 lol. I wish we could have picked our own, but I like how this one sounds.

I still don't really understand what Pottermore is, even after visiting the site! Can anyone fill me in?

i was in the pottermore beta! i don't remember what my name is on there anymore, but yeah. it's kind of like a really simple rpg, but not really at the same time. you get sorted [!], you get a wand [!!], and then you can explore each chapter of the first book [i don't believe the second book has been done yet] and find little easter eggs and additional information about the hp world, straight from jk rowling herself. you gain house points, and can make potions, though when i tried to do this it was buggy and really slow moving.

it's pretty cool, but it wasn't something that really held my interest long-term, even as a pretty huge harry potter fan. i don't think i even got through all the chapters. :/ i should probably give it a go again, though. honestly, i may have just been annoyed that i got sorted into slytherin and that colored the whole thing. gryffindor house pride for life, yo. :3

That's weird that you don't have access yet Caro, mine went thru right away earlier.

I got sorted into Hufflepuff. :( I don't wanna be a badger! Lol...I don't see myself playing on here much after a while either. It's neat but still pretty wonky. The potions & spells are hard!!
