|

We moved into the house in October and I have hung none of my photos up. It's on my list of things to do tomorrow.
The people who owned the house left most of their nails up and there are three in the main bathroom.
I don't own any landscapes or paintings of flowers or whatnot, but I do own a bajillion photos of my family.
Is it weird to be looking at my kids while you are sitting on the potty? _________________ I truncated my name!

If you're on the potty and surrounded by a bajillion random photo's, you know you're on a Dutch potty. People here seem to be obsessed with covering every inch of their bathroom walls in family photo's. So YAY from that point of view, but a nay for my own bathroom, because I don't really want to be quite that Dutch. My girlfriend and I are planning on covering our bathroom walls in our collectively amassed diplomas - from First Aid and typing certificates to various academic diplomas. We'd like to give people a chance to contemplate our brilliance as they're taking a dump.
So no, I don't think hanging family photo's in the bathroom is weird at all. _________________ The plural of anecdote is not data.

I'm with W&P, I say go. But that's maybe because I covered a butt ugly radiator in my own bathroom with 16 photos... _________________ the world is yours

| I have the full picture of my avatar framed in one of the bathrooms. People always comment on how happy it makes them! I don't think I'd put pictures of people int here though :P |

I love this idea! Now I know what to do with all those kid certificates, both mine from elementary school and the kid's! Right now we have landscape photos we took on a trip years ago, we need to freshen that up. Thanks for the great idea. |

| I don't think it's weird to put family photos in a bathroom. Restaurants do it all the time - how many times have I been in a restaurant bathroom and it's covered in photos. I used to have a friend that worked at a magazine and had shitloads of magazines in her bathroom, and when I'd come over she'd be embarassed that anyone knew she was doing that much bathroom reading. People are weird. |

I love this. I wish I knew where all my stupid driver's ed certificates and such were.
Part of me really wants to suggest that you take pictures of your kids using the bathroom (or at least sitting on the toilet) and hang those in the bathroom! _________________ country cookin' makes you good lookin'

I'm with Lassi, I've always had pictures of my dog in the bathroom! Though my bathroom right now doesn't have room for pictures, just lots of glass shelves and a big mirror.
I don't think there's anything wrong with family photos in the bathroom, it's kind of cute. |

I personally wouldn't, but I don't like photos of people on the walls in bedrooms or bathrooms. It makes me uncomfortable like they're all watching me and it creeps me out.
I don't like mirrors on closet doors or behind the toilet either. _________________ old user, new name & profile. |

I read this question from a totally different angle -- my first thought was "oh god, the moisture from the bath will destroy your photos!"
Don't put up any photos that are only copies! The moisture will cause mildewing, even if it's behind glass. (And the photo will likely stick to the glass.) So no heirloom photos in the bathroom. I've got a friend who framed pages cut from magazines for her bathroom—looks nice and no worries about long-term safety! _________________ http://graciesparkles.etsy.com

Not really my style, but people do it all the time.
Just make sure you don't hang a huge picture with a glaring grammatical error that I will stare at every time I pee at your house and I think you will be fine, lol. _________________ project 365

I'm divided, I think if they were bathroom themed, they'd be cute but a portrait or family shots would be weird? Like a baby with a rubber ducky = okay, doggie in the bathtub= okay, graduation portrait= maybe weird? _________________ My blog: http://www.cafesocialite.blogspot.com/ |

The toilets at my work have a big notice on the back of each door about leaving the "cubilce" as you would like to find it.
In NZ it's reasonably common to have a nice scenic calendar of the sort your local pharmicist or butcher hands out to valued customers at Christmas on the back of the toilet door.
I'm not so sure about family pics though.
At my uncle and aunt's place, when you visit the little room for the first time they send you in there with a vivid marker, so you can leave a message on the wall. |

I have three Man Ray prints in my bathroom; I bought a book of prints cheap on Amazon and framed them. Otherwise no family photos but I think it would be okay.
I have one of my BF and me inside the medicine cabinet. My face is cut off but it's the best one I have of him and I like us to see it, just not all the time since I am only half way there. _________________ If you don't talk to your cat about catnip, someone else will. |
