| I would be interested in either the Help or Paris Wife. |

Another vote for Julian Barnes. I've read a couple of his books, but not a recent one.
I'd also be down for Night Circus or 1Q84. |

I'm listening to "The Paris Wife" on audio at the moment and really enjoying it! So another vote for that!
Would also like to re-read "The Help" so that gets my vote as an alternate...
I'm open to whatever though, I've never got on with Murakami but maybe this will be the push I need to read him properly! _________________ go placidly amidst the noise and haste... |

| 1Q84 gets my vote, but I'll read whatever the group picks. I'm easy. :) |

| I've read them all except 1Q84, which I tried to read, but got distracted from (I will pick it up again in the summer, I'm sure). I liked them all (especially Ready Player One!), but I think The Paris Wife would be interesting to discuss with y'all so I will vote for that one. |

Looks like we're tied right now with 1Q84 (I keep wanting to put IQ lol) and The Paris Wife! :)
So if you had to pick one of those two, which would you prefer? I think I'm going to go for 1Q84 just because it's been on my to-buy list for awhile. Also I have an irrational hatred for Hemingway and I'm not sure how I would feel reading about him lol...but of course I'll go with the majority if that's the case.

I would read either happily, though I have a slight preference for 1Q84 as I heard a radio serial of The Paris Wife last year. _________________ kittens are cute, but a full-grown cat can be cuter

| I'm going to say Paris Wife still, I really haven't enjoyed any of the previous Murakami work that I've read. I might give it a go if it's the overwhelming favorite though. |

| I literally just finished 1Q84 last night. It is really really good. So I won't be able to read along but I would love to discuss it if it's chosen. |

I've read The Paris Wife, but it was recently so I would probably be able to discuss it without having to completely re-read it.
I've struggled with Murakami in the past, but I will go with whatever the group picks.
Uh...so my vote is for either. Super helpful, I know. ;) _________________ Wenn's dir nicht gefällt, mach neu. |

Lol...okay, how about we do 1Q84 for May and hold The Paris Wife for another month? It seems like there isn't anyone saying "NO! I don't want to read that!" so hopefully that's okay. :) I'm excited! _________________ ps- you're my favourite. We should be friends.--e |

I just got a call from the bookstore that my copy of 1Q84 has come in!

It turns out 1Q84 is published in two volumes in this country. There is a giant queue of reservations for library copies of both volumes, so I guess I'm sitting this round out! Boo. _________________ kittens are cute, but a full-grown cat can be cuter

| I went ahead and put IQ84 on hold at the library, but as with town hall, there's a long hold list. They do have a lot of copies in circulation, so I might wind up getting it soonish anyway (the system seems sort of unpredictable at times...) |
