I made a quilt this autumn. It was my first one, and maybe, just maybe, I should have chosen a less ambitious project. It is for a three-quarter bed (i.e. 48 in 75 in, or 120cm 200 cm) (you americans have very weird bed measurements...) Anyways. The base is some kind of Ohio Star pattern, but I put it in the computer and re-coloured it. I then made about a billion pieces, or 80 33 pieces, totalling 1680 squares. Yeah. Each having a seam around them, connecting them to the other pieces. I finished it off by quilting a meander pattern on top.

It took a lot of needles, a lot of thread, and a punctured finger, but I think it was worth it!

Now, onto the pictures!

The cat decided to "help". The entire quilt had been laid out the entire day, no problems. Within 5 minutes of me coming home, the litter critter had made a tornado out of the entire thing. And some people claim there is no such thing as conciousness in animals? :)

That is freaking incredible for your first time! Or like your 20th time, for that matter! It's beautiful! I love the pattern, and the colors are fantastic together! How long did it take you?

Beautiful, aliwa! I think we should hang out and you should help me finish my lingering quilt project. :D

Thank you for all your compliments :) I like it a lot too!

Hm, it must have taken about.. a billion hours? I seriously have no idea :) I did it over the course of 2 months or so. Maybe, this is a wild guess, 80 hours or so? I constantly changed the process to make it more efficient, making a small 4*4 ruler etc to make the cutting faster. But, hm, I don't know. There was a lot of ironing going on at the beginning which I gradually did less of as I realized that at some parts of the process, the ironing just messed things up instead of making it easier.
