Morning smoothie: frozen cherries, kale, fresh turmeric root, passion fruit pulp, a scoop of full-fat strawberry yogurt, and pumpkin seeds.
I have leftover black beans and squash that I think I'll make into soup for lunch. _________________ "I hate that they're giving tea a bad name. Tea is a peaceful, gentle drink." - Teahugger |

I have it growing in a pot and it's also available at the local co-op. I use maybe half a teaspoon worth? The taste is nice but really strong. You might be able to find it fresh at a South Asian/Indian market. _________________ "I hate that they're giving tea a bad name. Tea is a peaceful, gentle drink." - Teahugger |

Thanks, meexie- I thought I would look in the Asian market, next time I'm near one. I wonder if it will grow like ginger root?
I used my vitamix twice today. First to make hummus, which I don't use a recipe for, since I make it so often
( olive oil, lemon juice, sesame seeds, garlic, cumin and garbanzo beans.
But I also made this chocolate pudding recipe that was made with avocados! Here's a link to the recipe - it's amazing! http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2011/12/11/chococado-pudding/
eta- I used dates to sweeten instead of the agave and brown rice syrup |

Yup, it's in the ginger family. The plant looks very similar. The only problem I have is that ants like to eat the roots too, so I have to discourage ant colonies from building nests in the pots. _________________ "I hate that they're giving tea a bad name. My friend sent me this recipe today. I plan to make them this afternoon!
Vitamix banana cookies: Put in Vitamix - 2 ripe bananas, 2 cups oats, 1 cup raisins, 1 t vanilla, 1/4 cup coconut oil. Blend and then make into 12 balls and bake at 350 for 20 min. Delicious! |
