My day:

Got up and had my standard breakfast: whole wheat toast with peanut butter, and a barrel, I mean, pot of coffee.


My kitty showed off her tummy.


I spent most of my morning reading this:


And doing this.


Wolfy took his usual spot on my chest. In a related story, Wolfy had his nails trimmed later in the day.


Then, I cleaned the bathroom! Nothing like a nice clean toilet for a new year.


Then I had lunch. Leftover dal with baked tofu, tomatoes, and plain yogurt. Yum.


The kitties settled into being cute,


and I went to the grocery store.


Have I mentioned that I loooove my walk to the grocery store?


I stopped and said hi to the trolley cars, which made me feel a little like Mr. Rogers.


Bought food for the evening: brie, baguette, crackers, grapes, champagne, and butter and buttermilk to make Irish soda bread.


Apparently I am not the only one who puts off NYE shopping until 3pm the day of.


Back home, I made one loaf of Irish soda bread and realized I had just enough buttermilk, time, and gumption to make another!


There was really weird, beautiful, pink light around sunset.


Food done, I painted my nails and watched Supernanny.


Then I rolled up my hair


and got Meehan into her little devil suit for company.


Then a whole lot of other stuff happened and it all ended up like this:

after a fun party.

Nice New Year's.

...though next year I may skip the going out part altogether.
