For my sister and brother-in-law's wedding ceremony (they got married last July at the courthouse):

And, if I might brag, it tasted awesome too ;)

It looks beautiful!

All these handmade wedding cakes lately have me wanting to hire a Glitter for my (hypothetical, with an as-yet-undetermined partner) future wedding cake needs!

Thank you all!! :) I'm sooooo happy I made it.

I am also looking forward to shelling out the money to pay someone else to make mine, haha.

Beautiful! What were the cake/filling/frosting flavors?

The cake was a butter cake (recipe from the Wilton website) -- it had a light almond flavor and held up really well through freezing, defrosting, icing, etc.

Each tier was filled and frosted with a basic buttercream frosting.

The roses are a cream cheese frosting recipe that really has just a hint of cream cheese...my dad dislikes cream cheese frosting, but really liked this recipe! It has just a little bit of tang, is mostly sweet, and holds up well/crusts well for making the frosting roses.

You also can't really see it in the picture, but there were dots all over the cake: royal icing dots dried and placed on the sides of the cake (flavor = sugar :)

I would've been more adventurous with the fillings if they'd wanted, but they just wanted frosting...and honestly, now that all is said and done, I'm glad that frosting is all that I had to grapple with! :)
