so now that i have my nicky lad, i have more questions...
do her knees bend? i thought they were supposed to "click" the way barbie knees do, but i didn't want to force anything.
whats the best way to get the crimp out of her hair (from being smooshed in a box for however long)? |
Yes, the knees bend, like Barbie knees.
As for the hair, I'd probably dampen it and then straighten it with a hairbrush and the hair dryer on a low setting. I know for more serious hair straightening the procedure is a damp towel and an IRON---I never used that on my Takaras tho! _________________ "Fun is where you find it" - jackierocket |

Her head turns too! (my mom didn't know that for the longest time lol...)
You can wash their hair with shampoo/dish soap and conditioner and it'll make it really soft...my sister does "salon days" all the time on our's. :) Just be very careful not to get water on her eyelashes or in her head...she tapes their eyes shut and the hole in the back and is very careful to only get their hair wet.
She does the iron/damp towel also, but don't do it for too long and make sure the hair is a bit damp also, or you will singe her hair!! There's lots of threads on the Blythe forums too if you need more detail. :) _________________ ps- you're my favourite. We should be friends.--e |

I bought a couple of things on Etsy, but since I have 6 dolls it gets REAL expensive real fast. I made a few dresses, although it's tougher than sewing adult stuff!
Look online for the little Blythe cardi pattern! It's a great pattern and I knitted little cardis for all of my girls! _________________ "Fun is where you find it" - jackierocket |

| Oh I love blythes, but all I have is a pullip, actually I have a normal one and a mini of cornice. I an always amazed when people mod their blythes, I don't have the guts for that! |

The pictures on this thread can sometimes be the highlight of my week. Please post pictures of your Blythe dolls.
I adore the idea of making doll clothes. If I ever get a Blythe she's getting completely accurate scaled down historical clothes. I have a circa 1920's lowbrow doll that has 1870's skivvies I made complete with a tiny cage bustle and split drawers but I stopped short of actually dressing her. I should really get on that! The plan was to dress her up for visits to different historical buildings here in Denver and have her write a blog about Colorado history.
I'm a nerd...and maybe this week I'll sew a tiny day dress. _________________ Well, duh, but that's no reason to abandon ship. Work and fix it

| Alice, if you do that, you should totally tell The Dreamstress about it. It's also something that I've thought about doing. But first I still need to get my girl some hair! |
