wait wait...i don't think it is 42 points... but i'm confused!

you know how the tracker has the portion size & you're supposed to put in how much you ate? I didn't notice the '&' symbol - I guess I assumed it was a 'x' symbol?
so i put in: 4 'x' 1/4'...which is 42 points. the tracker lists 1/4 of an avocado as being only 3 points though.... so i guess a whole one is 12 points? (which i'd be okay with, even though that is also high)

so - recalculated, i ate 62 points - not 93.

crisis averted...as you were!

I've gotten back on the wagon since my stroke, but I've got to admit I'm not doing super well. Too many "cheats". Sigh. I used to be so much better at this!

However, I thought I'd gained a little bit after my stroke, but ended up counting points the week before my first weigh-in back and went on the record as down .4! Then the next week, it was back up. Last week I was down again, and just shy of 65lbs lost! This week I'm pretty sure i'm up again (I'm normally pretty religious about weighing in, but we'll see if I go tonight. I prefer a morning weigh-in, but my schedule isn't working with that this week!). Already nervous about next week's weigh in because it's my friends bachelorette party weekend! LOL.

A whole avocado is 10 points, by my tracker. Still ridiculous--it's a fruit!

Bumping.

I started doing WW and am on week 4 now. I'm UTTERLY CONFUSED. I apparently am losing weight too quickly (even though in the second week I put a bunch on), so a thing popped up today saying they've adjusted my PP allowance. I thought I'd be allowed MORE points, but they've knocked a point off, instead. WTF? Surely if I eat less, I'll lose even more weight? (Also, I don't want to eat less, frankly. I think portion size has always been my problem rather than an out and out unhealthy diet, so.. yeah.)

Anyone have any ideas? I know I can adjust my points manually, however, I would like to understand the reason behind this change & I can't find an explanation on the website.

Are you sure you're losing too quickly and *that's* why a point disappeared? Maybe you've lost enough to go down a point?

Hmm, I dunno, the pop-up said that my points has been adjusted as a result of my having lost too much. Maybe it would've gone down even more if I had only lost 2lb instead of 4? I did reach the 5% goal this week. It does seem quick but I have only done 3 full weeks, and I do expect it to slow.

I'm only on 27 points now, anyway, so I guess it can't go down much more!

5% in 3 weeks doesn't seem too crazy to me, although I suppose that depends on how much you're hoping to lose. I agree that it seems strange the pop up would say you've lost too much, so take points away...! I have gotten the pop-up telling me that I should aim for 1-2 pounds a week if I am anything over 2lbs (oh, were that to happen...with 5 "vanity pounds" to lose, I am inching...sometimes in the wrong direction!)

27 points? Does WW in the UK differ from WW in the US? Is it the PointsPlus system? (I only ask because as far as I know, 29 PP is the lowest you can go...)

When I started, 29 was the lowest, and then last week they said they were lowering the minimum to 26, and put mine down to 28. I use the online tools only - no meetings - so not sure if that makes a difference (?!). Oh, and they call it Pro Points here, but as far as I can make out, it's the same system as Points Plus

I have no idea/ previous experience of attempting to lose weight, so I'm kinda relying on WW to be accurate and rational. :)

Cheers for the advice. I'll just see how it goes I suppose!

I know they're making changes to the points plus system starting Dec 4 here in the states, so maybe they started sooner in the UK :)

I would def say to keep trusting the program -- as I have alluded to throughout this thread, I'm having trouble keeping on track, but have lost a lot of weight and am *thisclose* to goal -- and that all def came from working the plan!

Good luck!! :)

I think they do start plan roll outs in the UK first so maybe that's why.

I stopped going to meetings because they were making me feel bad. But, Uh, I have pretty much stopped all together now. I'm going to try to get back on track this week - I've gained about 10lbs back (most of that while I was still going to meetings though) and I'd like to at least be able to maintain if I can't lose more.

Im curious to see what the "new" plan entails.

The email I got about it today talked about being able to stop tracking for a day or more...and since I tend to fall apart on weekends (even if I'm eating pretty well, I might have a splurge meal or just not figure points for a meal/food and just give up on tracking, which is dumb!), I would LOVE to have some sort of no-tracking plan.

Oh yeah - the Filling and Healthy Day thing (which may also be called something else in the US) - here's what it says on the UK website:

WW wrote:
The basics:

Choose a Filling & Healthy day as often or as little as you like. You simply decide which approach to counting you want to take, on a day-by-day basis.
Focus on eating Filling & Healthy foods throughout the day
Ignore the ProPoints values and portion sizes of any Filling & Healthy foods you eat on this day. Instead use your feelings of satisfaction as your guide to how much to eat.
You should include two teaspoons of healthy oil in your meals and recipes for the day (sunflower, olive, flaxseed, safflower or rapeseed oil) without counting them. If you want to eat more than two teaspoons of healthy oil during the day, deduct the additional ProPoints values from your weekly ProPoints s allowance.
Use your weekly allowance for any non-Filling & Healthy foods you eat during the day.
There are certain drinks, seasonings and condiments you can have in unlimited quantities too.

I was thinking of giving it a go this week for a day and see how it works out.

That sounds a lot like the old plan where you could eat as much of certain foods as you wanted, and just used flex points for the extras.

I get the impression (though I haven't done a lot of looking into it) that this Filling and Healthy thing supposed to be used for the odd day or week, to give yourself a rest from counting and weighing everything, rather than to be used all the time. I'm not sure, though.
