| I really need you guys' help. I am looking for a comforter or bonus a full bedding set ('cause I'm lazy that way on mixing and matching) for our new TADA king size bed. I'm so looking forward to this bed and now I need some cool bedding. |

i think we're going to need more constraints than that, love... because we could lust over bedding, but it'd probably last for hours. _________________ xoxpuck

IKEA has some nice options in their new collection.
I got this set recently and I loooove it.
If you're not into bright colors, though, they have lots of other options.
But I agree -- tell us more! Budget/colors/fabric/duvet vs. comforter vs. quilt/etc. etc. etc. |

Yeah, I posted that before I went to bed so I was just so tickled about the new mattress I flaked on details =)
I need something that won't freak my husband out on girlyness. Most of our house is in earth tones, but we have had an off white set for YEARS and I'm so tired of the blah of that. I'm up for any colors. I do not really want a duvet. We had one and it slid around and had to be adjusted all the time. The sky is the limit on the budget...well I'm not going to spend 1k on a comforter, but you know what I mean.
Thanks for the help! |

sorry to hijack, but after reading Gigi's post I had to google the difference between 'duvet' and 'comforter' (I thought they were the same thing). I got to a helpful wikianswers page which sorted out the confusion. Underneath were 'related questions', and a link to this:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_bed_and_table
which made me laugh.
as you were

Martha Stewart has a great trick for Duvets. You turn the Duvet inside out, and sew a piece of ribbon long enough to tie to another one, onto each corner.
Then you do the same thing to your comforter [except the inside out part obviously]. Then you tie the ribbon of the corners together and it keeps the comforters from sliding all around inside!
I thought that was so smart when I saw her do that on her show. |

Some duvets and duvet covers come with those ribbons in the corners already but people don't always realize what they are for. Also, if you have a largish budget don't rule out a custom bed cover. Then you can pick your fabric and have them make it into whatever works best for you (comforter, duvet cover, bedspread - whatever).
My bedcover came from a fabulous garage sale and was custom made, best bed cover we have ever had. |

| I have been looking for a comforter lately myself and I have seen some really reasonably priced ones over on overstock.com. They are not the most exciting in terms of designs though... |

I have lusted over those sheets for a long time, but somehow can't justify the expense, especially since I have perfectly good sheets already. _________________ Many that live deserve death.
