Aaaand after New York (which I just posted another thread about), I'm going to Philadelphia for two days! I'll be there on Wednesday & Thursday next week. & Friday morning. Just a quick trip, since they're pretty close and I've always wanted to go there. I really want to see the Mutter museum, and otherwise... I have no idea what to do. Any recommendations are appreciated, and I'll search to see if we have any old threads on here. & of course, I think all you that live there should meet up with me!! Is anyone free??
& does anywhere know any cheapo places to stay that aren't totally gross? I signed up at couch surfing, too, but I don't have any reviews, so maybe nobody will accept me as a guest, there. Any glitterati in Philadelphia are welcome to offer me a floor space, of course, but don't feel obligated! I would love to meet up for dinner or coffee or something, too! _________________ The most overlooked thing about Morgan is that she's sort of like a really crappy version of Bea Arthur. |

Eastern State Penitentiary is worth a visit. I walked there from the Mutter Museum.
I love Reading Terminal Market, too. |

Eastern State is fantastic!
On the sciencey end of things, you might also enjoy the Wagner Free Institute of Science (though it's mostly natural and animal sciences) http://www.wagnerfreeinstitute.org/
The Museum of Art is a great museum--it's huge though, so if you want to go for just a short while, you need to plan out exactly what section you want to see. If nothing else, run up the Rocky steps (and see just how little Sly's feet are)!
Center City is great just for walking around in. The architecture is amazing!
Of course there is Independence National Historical Park and you can tour Independence Hall and see the Liberty Bell.
I don't know if any one lives in Philly anymore! Neurochic used to, but she's moved and not around here much anymore anyway. _________________ country cookin' makes you good lookin' |

Yeah, I moved to Boston awhile ago. I'm thinking you might like the Mutter Museum. _________________ If I were an enzyme, I'd be DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes.

Ugh, are you serious? Come back to Philly in December when I'm back from Chile! And on top of that, my boyfriend hosts couchsurfers constantly and totally would've hosted you at his place in the city, except that he's away til mid-August. Worst timing ever, haha. The Philly Couchsurfing group is really active though, so I would definitely take a shot at filling in your profile and then posting a last-minute couch request explaining the situation there. If people see that you only just signed up, they shouldn't really think that much of it that you don't have any reviews. Philly is an awesome city, you're going to love it!
ETA: If you PM me your profile link, I'll totally be your couchsurfing friend so you at least have something on there :) _________________ Rockin' Chainmail Jewelry!

Man alive, I'm sorry I missed this! I live in Philly, and if you ever come back to visit, I have a couch you can sleep on. What did you end up doing during your stay? _________________ Glitter is one hell of a drug. |
