Thanks everyone. The flames were pretty time consuming for my husband but he loved doing it, I think he secretly wishes that was OUR room LOL. He used the thinnest tape that you use for painting to get the curves just right and then after he taped off the curves of the flames with it he went around again with thicker tape to make sure he wouldn't tape over. Then he painted it and after a couple of coats. When that dried he took off the tape and then used a thin paint brush for touch ups so it didn't look fuzzy.

LOLOL you can say that again, my 18 year old brother in law lives across the street, him and his friends will often come over to play with my son, they all refer to the room as the "Fun House" room and have asked my husband to paint their rooms like that when they eventually move out together.
That is so incredible! It looks great- especially to see the before/after. I could definitely see 18 year old boys being into it still. So if you're lucky, it may be awhile before you have to worry about redecorating. Just switch out the "big boy" bed with a "bigger boy" bed. :) _________________ Silly silly me,
