it's such a good idea, and i've seen a bunch of dogs at the clinic with back leg problems really benefit from it. so keep it in mind if doggy leg problems ever come up in conversation. ;)

for the hyper dog in your life. there are different brands, that's just the first one i found. we have a red one for our buy body coonhound and it was a lifesaver, especially when we first got her and she was bouncing off the walls. if you feed them their meals in this it will activate their minds and keep them busy during meal time. also helps for dogs that just inhale their food too quickly, and sometimes barf. oh, dogs.

poop bags that you can flush! i think this is a great idea, considering how much poop our pets produce.
any others? _________________ If you experience chronic difficulties in a particular area of your life, there’s a strong chance that the root of the problem is a failure to accept reality as it is. |

cool post! gotta love dogs.
i think that bottoms up leash is such an awesome tool. i've seen so many old, arthritic doggies, but i have never ever seen this before.
my favorite dog gear are my dog's backpack and boots.
i make a lot of backpacking trips, so it's awesome that my dog can carry her own stuff - it takes a weight off my back, and also i noticed that she's more protective of our packs..because one of them is 'hers'. she fricken loves carrying stuff too, she gets so excited when i load her up. i also use it as a purse for my stuff if i don't want to carry a bag that day.
she's got this one :
i got it from Valhalla pure outfitters, it was like 60 bucks. (expensive, but worth it.) it's really sturdy, super adjustable, and built comfortably.
i need to invest in a better pair of boots for this winter. i didn't have any for her last winter (her first winter of life) and there were a couple really bad moments (in -32 degree weather) when she got too far down the sidewalk (or got scared and peaced out) and her feet started to freeze, and it hurt too bad for her to make it back to safe ground, so she ended up on her back yelping until i could make it over and save her. also, i missed out on a couple road trips, because if something had of gone wrong and we ended up having to hitchhike out of there, she wasn't properly geared up. i'm having a hard time finding a good, heavy duty set of boots for her, the pet stores seem to only really carry 'for show' clothes for froo-froo dogs. _________________ know thyself, and you shall know the Universe and God (...and i know because of KRS-1) |

darkcloud, that backpack is awesome.
where were you with her that it got so cold?? we got our dogs boots the winter we lived on a street with lots of store fronts that salted the sidewalk - the combo of cold and salt was making it really hard for their little feet. they are SUCH a pain. :) but worth it. i remember having to go to four or five pet stores in chicago looking for doggie boots, every store was sold out.
i have a new one: Dentatreat. http://www.amazon.com/Wysong-Dentatreat-10-oz-bottle/dp/B000GR6UFQ
you sprinkle it on their food, or make a toothpaste by mixing it with water, and it helps keep their teeth clean. i've been using it with my guys for about a week, and it could be all in my head, but their teeth do seem brighter. dental cleanings are expensive!! _________________ If you experience chronic difficulties in a particular area of your life, there’s a strong chance that the root of the problem is a failure to accept reality as it is. |

My friends' doggies are getting home-made, organic doggy treats for Christmas from me. Does that count?
Oh! And I need doggyboot suggestions for my friend's new puppy! Preferably something European, because shipping from the US is a bitch (hahaha, get it?). I'm knitting her a few sweaters as well. (The dog, not the person.) _________________ The plural of anecdote is not data.

i live in canada...interior british columbia. yup, it gets that damn cold here.
haha PAIN...at least a half hour struggle, with her biting me, and me laughing manically "c'mere little doggy lemme get ur bootiez on!"
i totally need to start brushing my dogs teeth...that product looks cool. i wonder what's in it? i feel weird about feeding her strange stuff, but it looks all natural?
(it's funny, cause when people give me organic doggy treats to give my dog, i usually end up eating like half of them.) _________________ know thyself, and you shall know the Universe and God (...and i know because of KRS-1) |
