This is my new apartment. I moved into it exactly a week ago and I love it so very much, hence the braggy pic spam. Or as I'd like to call it: "The grand tour".

I love how all my thrift scores, things found on my parents'/grandparents' attic, saved from my childhood and found on IKEA just blended so awesomely together. It's a good thing I have a balcony, cause sometimes I have to let my ego out there to cool down. :)

I start with the floor planning so you can get a feel for the place.

It's 47 square meters, the house is from 1944 and I live on the fourth floor. It's incredible sound proof.

These shelves, String, are staples in every 20-30-something's apartment if you live in a bigger city in Sweden. I have no idea if they're known outside this country. It was introduced in 1949 and you can mount them pretty mych however you want. My system is made from three sets found in my grandma's attic, a flee market and the garbage chamber in my parent's apartment complex.

My mom upholstered that foot stool for me.

The mat is a favourite. I found it on the attic of our country house the Sunday before the big move. All of the sudden I hade a huge epiphany: "Green! The apartment will have a green theme to it!" and everything fell in to place.
The coffe table is another score from grandma and grandpa's attic. And the chair is the first piece of furniture they ever bought together. How awesome is that?! It needs a wee bit of upholstering though...
Plus, this is the comfiest sofa ever! And that's a pretty sweet Napoleon Dynamite blanket.

I had the curtains in my last apartment. Also got them from my grandma with the words "I think the kids had them in their room in the 70's". Side note, my youngest aunt is now 45...
The table is a flee market find, my dad's aunt hs painted the lamp and the chairs is another score from the parents.

This area need a bit of work. Or really, the new TV I'll go hunting for next week.
The drawers are incredible cheap thrift finds. The globe lamp is from my child hood. As the fabric art, which scared the cap out of me, my sister and my best friend when we were kid. As grown ups we have the biggest problem figuring out how we ever could have been scared of something that adorable.

My balcony. Yeah... Still working on the details here, but I have a serious color theme goin' on. :)

What I like to call the girly side of my tiny kitchen. I've got some sweet pink flamingo action here.

The more manly side. Cause you can't get more testosterone than Steve McQueen in Bullit.

A completely useless favourite, the phone bench.
Scored it for absolutely nothing at a flea market. Please note I put it to good use by putting my cell phone on it. Haven't actually taken a call while sitting on it yet, though.

Have the pink flamingo thing going on in the bathroom as well. I will paint the wood border on the bathroom cabinet black and probably cut up black self-adhesive plastic and put over those hideous grey tiles.

The wallpaper is from the former owners. The small table is my great-grandparents old radio bench, the chest is another score from our country house, Big Ben is a sticker, the picture rails are from IKEA, the chair is from my granddad I think, the chandelier a birthday gift from my parents.

The dress is, sadly, not mine, but I have a grand plan of throwing a Halloween bash and go as Joan Holloway from Mad Men.

This wardrobe is like three times the size of my last one. How I managed for eight years I have no frickin' idea. But here I can even color coordinate my t-shirts! Bliss!

If you want bigger sizes you'll find them on my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/klaradetroit) or on Facebook (friend me if you can't see them).

Thanks for bearing with me. :)

That's one great looking apartment! I love the layout of it, it just looks so much more practical than any other one bedroom apartment I've ever seen! And of course, you've done a fantastic job decorating it.

Thank you all!!

I know it only should matter what I think, but dang it, it's nice to know other people also would feel comfy in my home. :)

redapple, the wallpaper is called Paradise from Graham & Brown. I like it a lot, but it's not really me so I'll give it a couple of months and see. My backup plan is this: Dandelions from Sanderson

Scarymonster, the couch is called Monza from the swedish company Mio. http://mio.se/Sortiment/Vardagsrum/Soffor/Monza
So very comfy! In my old (studio) apartment I sometimes chose to sleep on the couch instead of the bed cause it was so nice.

Irmavep, the layout was what I fell. It feels like a "real" apartment. Most places I saw hade a tiny dining-room-turned-bedroom in conjunction with the kitchen and more often than not the space was so cramped you couldn't even close the door between the rooms.

Wooooaaahhhh.

Please come to Australia and decorate my room. Its a mess of stuff I have taken off friends who were throwing things out and awesome finds from furniture left on the side of the road. I have not ever bought furniture for my house, it just comes to me. But mine looks like a crazy mismatched mess.

I love your house!!

A lot of people in the US spend a ton of money to make it look like they live in Sweden. I love the place!
