i found old glitter through a link on the blog of a writer from punk planet back in 2000.
when the split happened, i totally planned on participating on both new glitter and getcrafty, but i really felt more at home here. still do.
i <3 glitter!

| I used to post a ton on Chickclick, so I kind of new about getcrafty and stuff, but I never posted there. Then I followed a link in the blog of a girl I knew from school, and here I am! I lurked for about a year before I signed up and started posting. |

I was looking for non-lame embroidery patterns. It was winter here, which is gross, and lasts for pretty much half the year. I had learned how to embroider at Green Gables, and figured it would help keep me from going out of my mind. I found Sublime Stitching, and then started cruising the awesome list of links over there, and voila! Glitter! _________________ http://montgomeryfibrearts.wordpress.com/ |

| I've been reading/lurking/posting at glitter for...forever....I am not sure what let me to the original at getcrafty, but that is where I came from. Back in the day when I was a young teen and I thought I was probably too young to be hanging out with all these super cool ladies. :) Now they're a constant source of advice and entertainment and inspiration, even when I fall into lurkdom. If I had made a post for every time I read an ongoing thread -- I'd be at about a million by now. |

I knew SuperNaturale somehow - probably from links on other craft sites - but didn't look at Glitter until this past spring or summer. It was a thread over on Grown Up called "dating through the dry spells" that convinced me to join up. All my friends in town started dating people in the spring and I was feeling kinda left out and alone (still am, really), so I was comforted to see that I wasn't the only one! I think I lurked for about a week before I started posting. One of these days I'll get around to uploading an avatar. _________________ "I tried watching downton abby. mistake. switched to ru paul's drag race." - Lacey Marie |

I started out on Craftster and was completely addicted to it...until my last job blocked it!! I was very sad and then I remembered MelMelon (whom I love and adore!!!) mentioning Supernaturale once and decided to check it out. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I hardly check Craftster anymore. (And I don't know what I'll do if my new job blocks Glitter & Craftster!! **CROSSES FINGERS**) _________________ ps- you're my favourite. We should be friends.--e |

I found the old getcrafty site looking for crafts at my job which has a lot of downtime. One day I was so bored I started clicking all the different stuff on the site and found the message board. I read a little and joined in on a couple of topics on OG. Then when they moved, I followed and ended up having it be a HUGE part of my life.
Even my mom says "Make sure you keep in touch with your Glitter friends!" :-) |

I think mine was a progression from Craftster to GetCrafty to Glitter, during summer downtime at work last year (or was it the year before? I forget!). I've kind of stopped here because this site is the greatest! _________________ "Now it has become clear to me, that it cannot be wisdom to assert the truth of one faith over another. A friend told me about Get Crafty a few years ago, and I started posting to boards there about finding people in my town to craft with. I kept it up when they moved to SN. And I've been here ever since! _________________ Well, at least I wasn't the one who puked on the floor. --greenbean |

| I really don't remember what brought me to the old Glitter boards, but I do know that I was still in high school, so it would've been 7 years ago. I posted under a different name there, and just made the transition when the boards split. While I don't post every day, I do read the boards every day, and I really can't imagine not having Glitter in my life. This is such an amazing community of people full of knowledge, wisdom and understanding (most of the time :). |

I think t-shirt underwear brought me here too.
Not that I ever made t-shirt underwear...and I lurked for a while.
Then I found that my friend greenbean was here, and she's great, so I thought, hey, you are probably pretty great too.
And what do you know? You are!
Glitter has ruined my desire to spend any time on any other message boards, you people are so lovely and intelligent and capable of typing whole sentences with punctuation and everything! |

i was looking for a way to revive my creative side, so i googled something about cool crochet patterns or something like that and ended up on old glitter. i got hooked b/c i loved all the ideas and support that everyone gave. i have an account on getcrafty, too but i tend to gravitate here. maybe it's the bright yellow that draws me in :) _________________ joy is everywhere. always. |

Same here! I think I found it through Chickclick, but I'm not certain. _________________ Back in the '70s when disco & exorcisms were all the rage, he was the man. |

I was lurking quite a bit on Craftster, and noticed that Glitter was mentioned quite a bit. Then one day craftster was down, and I wondered if I could find out why - so I found glitter via google, and lo and behold there was a thread about Craftster! But then there were all these other interesting threads too! I lurked for a couple of weeks and then couldn't resist posting an Open Letter - and the rest is history! _________________ "There will be a night sometime in the next week or two where I just put a podcast on and start gluing shit to myself.
