Certainly. I generally make mine open faced. Make your favorite tuna salad recipe--mine is just plain tuna, plus just enough Miracle Whip to bind it, a little bit of celery, and lemon pepper.
You can use any bread you like. I like to use hamburger bun halves. White bread is good too. Really, anything. I put a piece of American cheese directly onto the bread, or you can put it on top of the tuna salad.
Pile the tuna salad onto the buns, either on top of the cheese or with cheese on top. If you want the tuna salad hot and the bread crispy, bake at 375 for about 15 or 20 minutes. If you want the bread squashy, broil for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and the top is lightly browned.
Another way I like to make tuna salad is piled on a hoagie bun that has been lightly spread with jalapeno pepper jam, and then sprinkled with cheddar cheese shreds, then broiled. _________________ "Fun is where you find it" - jackierocket |

I make my tuna melts just like I would make grilled cheese. Make up your tuna salad anyway you like it, butter two pieces of bread, put one slice butter side down in a frying pan, then tuna, then a cheese slice, a few slices of tomoato and then the last slice of bread butter side out. Cook like a grilled cheese. It is great with pickles! Not exactly healthy....lol _________________ ¤þríñçëss¤§qüîshïê¤ |

ohh! I just discovered I love tuna!
always thought of it as gross and disgusting to eat fish out of a can....but funnily, during the last few weeks i had the urge to eat it, even though I hated it???
so, i discovered I love it!
I haven't eaten anything else the last few days and thinking about investing some money in a sandwich maker?
I put tuna on, miracle whip, capers, red onion and salad... I'll have to try it with cheese but i'm not so sure about that one...
