ahem... suprise! I wasn't trying or expecting to get knocked up, but the world had other plans. I guess now I know why I was obsessing so much over having another little bean! _________________ keep it simple |

(I'm not a big announcer type, but I guess I'll post on here seeing as I have pretty much spilled the worms on FB already.)
I'm knocked up. Baby girl is due early September. Yeeehaw!

Ok. Here it goes. For the last and final time, we are due on Dec 14 (the day after Little Bits second birthday).
That's it! No more babies for us! =)
We are ecstatic, in shock and totally have to re-plan a vacation we have booked for the first week of December. _________________ I truncated my name!

LIAT! Wow! Congrats! I like the finality of your announcement.
Tamka....I didn't know we didn't know! Since I knew on FB. Circular weirdness...I'm glad I didn't out you! And of course, congrats....any name ideas?
S is named after my partner's grandma, so I want to name the new baby after one of my grandparents. Elizabeth Ann (we'd go with Eliza, or maaaybe Annie), or James Thomas. Nobody's crazy about the boy name, but boy names are hard! I really would like it to be a family name, though, especially since S has one. Although I love the name Stella and would probably have used it no matter what. I will probably go back and delete these names later! _________________

Since you might delete them, dance, I'll just add that your grandfather's first name is a fantastic one!
And major congrats, Liat! That's really really great! _________________ Sale! Everything has to go.|Blog

Thanks, ladies!
It's not been a secret so much as I feel odd announcing things like this. (When I got married, people at work didn't know for a year. I'm just not a big announcer.) Though I did want to wait until the test results came back all normal and such. Turns out I'm a little superstitious.
FB is how I keep in touch with most of my fam in Chicago, so I've been talking about it on there.
Names have been the most difficult thing! I love Fiona, but he's all "meh". He suggested Heba. What the heck kind of name is that? There is one we almost agree on, but I' m not 100%. Sabrina. I think it might be too common. He also suggested Scheherazade. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it is growing on me. I think we'd call her Sadie. (This may be deleted later.)

I work with young kids, and have for 8 years, and I've only known 2 Sabrinas. That could, of course, vary by region.
Scheherazade is hard core! That's so cool that you could both find an out there name and wanna go for it. I'm too chicken...that's also why I have no tattoos, even though I love them. I loooove Sadie. LOVE.
FWIW, my friend is considering Fiona and now also Phoebe. I never considered Phoebe, but I love it now. It's oddly perfect for each life phase...I can imagine adorable baby phoebe, harriet the spy type young phoebe, mysterious poetic teen phoebe, and artsy cool adult phoebe.
I knew you had one also, Kattwalk, but didn't want to call you out! I love that name. Obviously. Do you mind if I ask her middle name? _________________

Her middle name is Lily. If there are more kids in the world named Eliza and they are as awesome as mine, I think the name should grow.
I love names with an antique flavor. |

Congrats Liat and Tamka!
I love Phoebe, Sabrina, and Eliza!
I think naming the kid has been the hardest part so far! I had like 100 names I loved and each and every one was shot down by my husband, yet he would only suggest one name that I did not love. I don't even think he was that attached to the name... he just didn't bother thinking of another one! I suggested this one name and he said no immediately, but then changed his mind a week or so later after seeing it in print in a baby name book. So finally we picked a name, which will be Aviva. Our last name has a V in it, and the whole name together sounds very v v v but I have been assured by others that it is not awful. I would love to find a middle name to break it up a bit, but I feel it should be one syllable and those names are hard! (edit: and my husband is still not easy to pick names with) _________________ Etsy!

Chupacabra, I love that name! We have an Aviva in my family. It's even better if she's born in the spring!
Don't worry about the v's - if you look at my son's name, and then consider that our last name starts with an L...clearly we like alliteration!
Naming him was the hardest part for us, too. And I also came up with a million names that my husband didn't like for one dumb reason after another, and he came up with NOTHING useful! Except, he was the one who came up with the name we ended up going with...which is SO annoying ;) _________________ float like a floatbot, sting like an automatic stinging machine! |
