i know i don't participate in picsun as much as i should because the projects i'm working on aren't super-photogenic, so let's go with pictures plus narratives, maybe beginning with "my big project this week has been..."
so. my big project this week has been working on a yard sale! we only made $15 yesterday, but the friends we did it with (who are selling much more stuff because they're moving in with us) made about $100! we're selling more stuff until noonish today.
also i strained my wild rose tinctures from a few weeks ago! _________________ xoxpuck

Good idea Puck! My projects haven't been so photogenic lately, for lots of reasons.
Right now I'm working on a couple of big quilts, both of which are surprise gifts for people so I can't post pictures out into the wilds of the internet in case they are discovered. I'm also brainstorming a third baby quilt, so lots of research and playing around with colour. I do have a couple of small sewing projects I'm hoping to finish up today, so perhaps I'll have some photo evidence to post before the day is up. _________________ i live at the foot of a mountain: some of my adventures |

good idea, puck. I'm not keen to photograph my main project this week right now:
I've made a muslin of the bodice to a dress. It very slightly doesn't fit properly (the bust darts lie weirdly), and I don't know how to fix it, so I'm laying it aside for now before I get all befuddled and cross. _________________ kittens are cute, but a full-grown cat can be cuter

Tons of "surprise" stuff going on with me too, so not a ton of photos, but I did get these of a hat/mitt set I'm working on:

Oh, and I can show off a former "secret" project, a hat I knit back in January, just published in Knitscene:

Studio Marlowe, that green hat is absolutely beautiful! I may just have to go buy knit scene!
I did things! And took pictures!
This is a weird canopy/headboard idea I had for my bedroom. I'm not very happy with how it looks, so any suggestions on how to make it better would be appreciated!

shortskirt, your cupcakes are lovely!
This still needs to be ironed, but it's a red tea towel with a sublime stitching pattern.

Awww, thanks for the compliments shortskirt and anniebeegoode! I am really surprised by how popular that hat has been so far...I thought it was a cute idea, but I didn't expect so many people would agree with me!
shortskirt, I really like that headboard idea (especially the way it runs up the slope of the ceiling). Is there something specific about it you don't like? My one thought is that it looks a little "unfinished", maybe there is some way of giving it a "frame" (if that makes sense...?) _________________ Studio Marlowe knitting patterns: 15% off with code "yellowboards" |

I think that is super cute, but maybe a bit too narrow? Maybe if you added about 8 inches of something on either side the scale would be better. _________________ "all that beige minimalism makes my penis soft!" - madgeylou |

Agreed! I aslo like StudioMarlowe's idea about a "frame". How about a nice braided trim tacked along the outside? _________________ We are none of us alone

That hat is DIVINE. I want one and I'm going to try to get my brother-in-law to make one for me. Seriously love it. |

Yeah, it's a little narrower than the bed, which I wasn't planning on. I actually have a lot more of the fabric, so I could add panels to each side to make it wider. I think a frame would look nice, but I'm not sure I could add it across the top.
Thanks for the suggestions! |

Wow, what a week this was!
StudioMarlowe, the Serpentine hat really hits a sweet spot - it's an interesting (but not super-advanced) knit, so the knitters love it, and it's stylish and retro without being costume-y, so the muggles love it too!
puck, what are you using the wild rose tincture for? _________________ ravelry: mkcarroll
