1. I am stubborn. If someone tells me I can't or shouldn't do something, I take it as a challenge.
2. I love to be alone, but I get really lonely sometimes. I think a cat would be the perfect way to solve that!
3. I am terrible at being domestic (hate dishes), but love to cook and bake. I think I'm pretty talented at making food.
4. My boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for longer than we've been in a regular relationship...but he's moving closer in just a few months! I love him more than anything.
5. I have been a vegetarian for about eight years.
6. I'm a journalist for a daily newspaper and love my job. I'm constantly worried that newspapers are not going to make it in the next 10 years, however.
7. I studied abroad for my junior year in college. I lived in England and visited Dublin, Vienna, Barcelona, and Madrid. However, other than trips to Canada, I have not left the country in 3 years.
8. However, just this year, I have visited Ottawa, Boston, Philadelphia and New York City. Three of the four were new cities for me. That explains why I am broke!
9. More than a cat, I really want a goat. I want to have a goat farm and sell goat cheese when I'm retired. That honestly sounds like the most idyllic life.
10. I'm currently trying to balance my job, boyfriend and hobbies at the moment. And friends! I've been uncompromisingly reintroducing reading, knitting, and general craftiness back into my life while still acting my age (24). My job requires me to work crazy hours and my boyfriend and I talk every night, so it can be a little difficult getting "me time" in certain days of the week. _________________ You were right about the stars; each one is a setting sun.

I love goats, too! We kept them when I was a teenager (they were supposed to keep our horse company, but he chased them around too much so we had to separate them), and they're just such lovely creatures. The volunteer work I've just started doing is based on a city farm/ petting zoo type deal, and they have goats. There were three tiiiiny kids there yesterday, and I went a bit crazy staring at them. SO CUTE. And I love the way nannies go into a trance when you scratch the tops of their heads or brush them. Not too keen on the stank billies make, but I guess that's part of the deal.
Um, anyway, sorry, back to the ten things thing. _________________ kittens are cute, but a full-grown cat can be cuter

Let's see if I can come up with 10!
I moved out of my parents' house when I was 17, and in with my sister and her boyfriend and 2 others. I was MUCH younger then everyone else, but I was always the responsible one in the house. I lent everyone money and got out of bed super late at night to go pick them up from bars and parties.
Actually the first place I lived for a few months when I moved out was with a friend with a one bedroom apartment. I slept on a single mattress in the corner of the living room. You had to go through the bathroom to get to her bedroom. It was awkward.
The first time I got drunk, I was wearing one of those shirts that says "baby" with an arrow.
I'm sure I've shared this here before, but I've never eaten a grape, an orange or a banana. I recently started using lemons for baking, and I struggle not to gag when I'm zesting and juicing them. But I love lemon flavored things like cake and cough drops!
I love the smell of lilacs, fireplaces, old books and my dog's fur.
I'm learning to belly dance, and now when I'm in the shower and it's time to dry off, I do a shimmy to shake the water off.
I have 3 tattoos: one is a Pisces symbol on my back that my close friend drew, one is a little funny cross on my thumb that I did with India ink in high school, and the other is a line from I <3 Huckabees on my forearm.
My favourite movies growing up were Splash and The Last Unicorn. We had to rent a VCR to watch movies, and I never wanted to rent anything else with it. My sister rented Psycho once when I was 7, and I was terrified of our shower for many years after (like until I moved out), because some of the tiles had fallen off, and I was sure that there was someone in the next room (my bedroom no less!) spying on me.
I rode horses competitively until I was 17, the year I moved out. The previous year, I made it to the all-Ontario championships and placed 4th and 5th in two of my classes.
When I lived in Vancouver, I climbed Grouse Mountain. It was really cold and rainy that day, but as we climbed it got really hot. There were only so many layers to take off, and some of us ended up hiking in our undies :)
That's 10! |

Heh, my parents have goats. Be careful should you ever go that route, they lead to bigger things. My parents graduated to donkeys within a year. :) _________________ Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for." -Bob Marley
