I am dissertating like a MANIAC, and I am totally entertaining myself with coming up with subheadings for my chapters. They include: "Why Alexandria Must Burn" and "Attack of the Killer Books". I am also considering "Library of Desire" for one chapter, and another might be "Chop/Cook." That last one is totally a reference to one of MAC's recent limited edition collections. Muahaha. _________________ The plural of anecdote is not data.

I just finished a meeting. I shouldn't have had to have led the meeting but I was the only one who stepped up to even put an outline to our plan. The person in charge of the committee actually left 25 minutes before the meeting ended. I ended up defending the group position more than I should have. I left feeling like we could have done a better job at educating people before this meeting …
but … the meeting is done! And I have a nice bottle of wine calling my name, and the many compliments from people I respect dosent hurt. |

| Ugg Boots. They just arrived today. It was 12 Deg in our living room earlier, and my toes were warm. (Now I need Ugg boots for my knees.) |

Today I weigh the weight I say I weigh when I have to give a weight.
Now, I will lower that made-up weight by 5 pounds and have a new goal to reach for weight loss. _________________ country cookin' makes you good lookin'

| Goodness just keeps raining down on me! I got the job I wanted, near where I want to live, my family is being super supportive, I have awesome friends, and I even met a guy who is really nice and as far as I can tell, doesn't have the issues my ex had. Life is good! |

| My porch sale started out kind of crappy this morning. It was raining, and I was bummed out that I had spent so much time hauling stuff out there yesterday. BUT! Things completely turned around within a few hours, and I've made about $120 so far. I'm so glad I didn't give up and call it a day during the morning rainstorm. |

It's warm! And sunny! And I'm making a raw cashew dreamcake for my dad's birthday (heart-healthier than a regular cheesecake). Aw yeah. _________________ No fork left behind! |

There are delicious smells of roast veges with rosemary coming from the kitchen AND there's a new season of Top Chef starting tonight, which we just discovered by accident.
Nom Nom Nom. |

Me again!
I found a dress I really liked at Cue yesterday, but it was a little snug in the arms. Soon after I got home, I got an email telling me there was 20% off for Club members today, so I decided to go to the city branch on the way into work this morning. They had my size, now half price, AND I got the extra 20% off too. So I bought the belt-bracelet that I'd had my eye on for the last 6 months too. All up $103 for a new outfit from my favourite store. AWESOME! |

This morning I found a fox den, just below the first switchback of our driveway. I stopped the car and watched out the window while six (!!) kits tumbled around and climbed on the logs that cover their den. So stinkin' cute! I hiked back down tonight with my camera, and all but one of them disappeared inside. The brave little one that stayed out rested its head on a log and watched me while I watched him/her. AWESOME. _________________ Say YES!! to awesome. |

underage_elf I think you just made me wish (for a really brief second) that I lived outside the city.
Except MrC told me the bad news this morning, not that the Spurs lost but that we were out of coffee, good thing I live in a big city and coffee options were minutes away.
So my good things for today:
- I was able to get coffee...mmm
- I only work 3 days this week and then have a long weekend with the kid
- My garden ROCKS and has been generous in herbs, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and hopefully zukes really soon
- We have good plans for the end of the school year and for getting the kid some quality time with buddies in the next few days
- I've been stressing about work (it is so slow at our office and we have a new office in SF that I wouldn't be surprised if they close down the office in my town) but MrC has a good job and we talked about what we would need to do to manage on one income if needed so my outlook today is much better than yesterday
- All those veggies mean I am going to have an awesome salad to take for lunch |

I FINALLY got a bunch of kinks worked out of some of my work that was causing a huge block in dissertation progress. YAY! Sometimes spending a good chunk of the weekend in the office does pay off, I guess.
It's a beautiful sunny day and I'm feeling much more optimistic about things than I have been for the past couple of days. So nice to feel like that black cloud that was hovering over me has drifted away. |

I am going to Raleigh tomorrow with C to visit his parents.
We are staying there a week, and I am looking forward to downtime with fam, relaxing, and exploring a new part of the country.
I know all of the job searching will be waiting for me when I get back, but I'm happy to take some time away from it all, since my time off during graduation was a hurricane of activity. _________________ (Human sass. Robotic precision.)
