And even without the merits of deciding for yourself - leggings are definitely still around, and the people I see in them are the fashionable sorts, so I'd say they're still totally fine even if you are heeding the prevailing trends.

I like leggings still with dresses or tunics! Don't let Stacy and Clinton change your mind!

My question-- I have this skirt but it's too long for me. Can I hem it with the fusible webbing tape? Will that actually work? Or do I need to handsew it?

For something that lightweight, I can imagine the tape making it hang funny. I'd probably handsew it.

From the picture, it looks like a rolled hem, so you probably want to go for something similar. Do you know anyone with a sewing machine who knows how to use their rolled hem foot? (They're a pain, but worth the finish).

Yeah, I could ask my mom. I have a sewing machine but haven't used in a million years. I might just sew it by hand and see how it goes and if that doesn't work, I'll ask my mom.

Do people working in retail get offended if I don't want to stop and chat with them for while? I just went into Lush on my lunch hour to pick up a few things, and while I like chatting with the people there, I don't want to be best friends, you know? And the person helping me kept asking me questions about my day, what I was doing later, etc. And I sort of brushed off her questions a bit, because I don't like opening up to people right off the bat. The store was empty, and the salesperson was super nice and even gave me samples and I was polite, but I dunno, I guess I'm not that friendly?

checkersomething- I think that it's part of their job to chat with you. A lot of retail companies require that employees build a rapport with customers so that they want to come back in again and again. I really don't think they would be offended if you didn't spend time talking to them- they are just doing their job!

L u s h employees seem to be trained to do that.

While in NYC we ran into the Union Square shop quickly for some soap and I felt kind of accosted by the employees -- I usually LOVE chatting and getting suggestions and samples, but we were literally just grabbing the soap we needed (our friends were waiting outside on us) and I think EVERY employee in the store stopped to ask us questions and chat (and it seemed overstaffed!)

That is also my experience with them specifically.. I usually say I don't need any help when they ask, but I end up having to repeat it for every employee!

Actually that reminds me.. One of my favorite things is their Flying Fox body wash. It's full of jasmine and I love the way it smells. But jasmine is on the list of things pregnant women shouldn't use in aromatherapy.. Is the jasmine in the body wash the same kind of thing as jasmine for aromatherapy?

I thought it might be so, about the company requiring it. And like milyssa, I think that it was more that I was on a limited timeline (and budget!) than anything else. There was also a little bit oh "oh, you don't use only our products, you use drugstore brands???" going on which may have put me slightly on edge.

Edited to add: I tried all my products last night, and wow! I think that I hit the perfect combo for my hair. I may have to go back and chat more, if it means I get really good recommendations that don't cost a fortune and work really well.

I definitely wear leggings still and will continue probably even when they are out of style lol.

My sis has had the same pushyness at L U S H. I bet they get secret-shopped every month, so they have to be on their best behavior. We did at my last retail job and it sucked being so pushy, but we had to or got low scores and "in trouble".

Now my stupid question: Whenever I wear sandals or some flipflops, I get a burny feeling on the bottom of my foot, below my toes, after I've been walking a while. Not the ball really, but all the way across? Does anyone else get that and how do I keep it from happening? The sandals are comfy otherwise.

You will be fine. It needs to be a pretty high concentration of essential oil to have any kind of negative impact, and they're almost certainly not using pharmacopeia grade oils.

Also, here's a response from Lush about that specific product.

How come an teensy weeny egg being released from my ovaries, travelling to my womb and then taking the womb-lining with it when it evacuates because it hasn't been fertilised causes my legs to feel so heavy and sore?

Cramps in the general womb area I can understand. The leg ones just don't make sens.

This is really ridiculous, but I have difficulty sitting for long periods of time because my tailbone ends up REALLY hurting! I carry my weight in my midsection and not on my hips, butt, or thighs, so since I'm fairly thin, there's just not much on my tush to pad it. However, I'm sitting on my couch and my rear is starting to hurt! I'm shifting my weight forward now, but I know this isn't very good for my back (laptop on my coffee table, leaning forward from the couch).

Does anyone else have this problem and/or have solutions?
