Nemesis, I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling this way. I just wanted to tell you that you are awesome for letting it all out here and you are not judged for admitting some real feelings. You are not alone with your feelings of pregnancy (I do not love it, it is a means to a wonderful end, and I cannot wait for it to be over), and I can't even imagine how much it is all compounded by having to go through those scary 6 weeks.

I don't know how you feel about medication but you can take some antidepressants while pregnant and you can certainly take some after the baby arrives. I took some for about 6 months and it really helped pull me through PPD. I've already warned my OB that I may need a script this time (last time I visited a psychiatrist)

Can I just say, that as much as I love feeling the baby, I hate hate hate being pregnant?

I feel really sick most of the time. Even if I'm not nauseous, I feel like I have the flu.

Yesterday I fell asleep at 5pm and probably could have slept through until the next morning but I felt bad about not spending any time with Mr. Tramp. So I got up at 10ish and went down stairs and sat on the couch feeling sick until he wanted to go to bed. At which point my two oldest kids crawled into our bed, and deciding I didn't want to argue, I just went and slept on the couch.

So today I feel like poo, and I'm tired and my husband doesn't get home until 10 and I just want a time out.

Hopefully you've found some rest by now, Liat.
All I have to say is I have no freaking idea how you are doing it with 3 children to care for. I am exhausted with one. You deserve a medal.

Also? You can always say you hate being pregnant without any worry. I relate, at least. I've moved past complaining and now when people ask me how I feel I just shrug and say how many weeks are left. Its my motivator.

This really resonated: "Feeling sad, negative, angry and anxious while pregnant is so paralyzing that most women are unable to talk about it. Their silence makes diagnosing depression in pregnancy difficult. Their experience of depression is so far from the image of ‘an ideal pregnancy' that they cannot imagine anyone believing or understanding how they feel. They are ashamed that they are already bad mothers. These thoughts may reoccur and trigger a spiral into a deeper depression for women."

This is the reason I have made no apologies for not loving being pregnant. I know I've totally horrified some of the ladies I work with by honestly talking about how much I do not enjoy my body being taken over by this...thing, but I don't care.
Someone needs to say it out loud, and people need to be okay with hearing it. The "ideal pregnancy" is such a crock. I have so many friends who gush about how much they love being preg, but then whisper in private about the parts of it they hate.

Yes. Both of my pregnancies have caused me to be horribly ill, and have had long-standing life threatening complications, long-term hospitalizations and premature births (not severely premature, mildly, but still). Not exactly my idea of a party. Pregnancy is really effing tough.

I've been crampy all day. Like, period cramps. They aren't contractions that come and go, these are just constant cramps, exactly like when I have my period. Intensity wise...enough that I'm whiny about them and don't want to do a whole lot, but not so intense that I couldn't go about my normal day if I had to. (I'm not at work, so I don't have to do anything! yay!)

What do you think is going on? I really don't want to go to the hospital, cuz I went last weekend for roughly the same thing and they thought I just had a bit of the flu.

Are you hydrated? Are your electrolytes up? There's a great drink called Recharge that I drank in early labor that is all natural - you can also make your own electrolyte drink.

Any chance you could have a UTI?

ETA: Argh. I would call your provider...I know it's a PITA but that's what they're there for, you know?

Yes go get screened for a UTI. Common in pregnancy.
I have the same thing and it's just mild contractions/ irritable uterus for me, but my doc made me come in for a UTI test when I emailed her about it.
And definitely make sure you are hydrated. Dehydration is a huge cause for contrax.
edit: or ligament pain??

I thought ligament pain, as well...that's exactly what it felt like for me, like period cramps.

And I second calling your doctor/midwife. I'm very much an err-on-the-side-of-caution kind of girl.

My butt is officially kicked.

I've been trying really hard to get enough sleep, to eat well and keep moving. But I'm so tired and cranky and sick. Really if I had the option of running away for the next three months and hiding by myself, I think I might take it.

Because I feel like crap, I'm slipping on keeping the house tidy, and with three little monsters about, things get messy really quickly and then slide into plain gross.

Holy moly the heartburn.

A whine: I'm 30 weeks on Wednesday and I've gotten by with minimal maternity clothes shopping. Now I'm desperate. Just waddled to 4 different stores to find nothing. I'm such a weird size. I declare the next 10 weeks muu muu weeks.

I've been trying to avoid buying much, but my mom had promised to buy me clothes at Christmas. I just decided to take her up on it, 'cause I'm wearing the same four shirts every week and all the dresses that fit me are purple. I'm so booooored. Plus, wrap dresses I can continue to use for nursing, yessss...

PS why are all the dresses maxi dresses? I do not want to be a tent of hot down to my ankles, thanks.

How's everyone feeling?

I can feel the baby move now...so amazing! Everytime I feel the tiny flutter, I feel so at peace.
