The other thread is being co-opted (I'm not getting into that) but I still want a place to talk about pregnancy. So here it is.

My placenta is forward this pregnancy, so I'm not feeling the little girl very much. Mostly I feel her kicking down around my cervix and that squidges me out a bit. I miss being able to feel the little popcorn kicks on my stomach.

I'm about 21 weeks now and I'm just looking forward to when she gets bigger and the kicks become more powerful.

I get cervix-punched every day, and it feels so weird! Baby's doing it right now, in fact. Stop that, you.

It's been in the 60s and 70s here for a week, which isn't really normal, and I'm really not handling that well. Auuugghhh.

We steeled ourselves and tackled the creation of a registry yesterday, since we were getting parent pressure.. Also auuugghhhh.

Two things:

(1) You pregnany ladies... you are amazing! I saw my friend's baby drag his foot across her stomach and I *freaked out.* Haha. I can't even imagine being punched in my lady bits from the inside. *shudder*

(2) My coworker was pregnant last year during the summer. I don't know how she survived without punching anyone in the face. (Because, dear god, my other coworker can be quite the obnoxious child.)

Kudos to you all! :)

Those little kicks were my favorite. Fingers crossed that she'll hit a big growth spurt in the next few days and you'll start feeling the fun stuff instead of those weird cervix taps.

Same here. Thank goodness I'm almost done. I keep thinking about ladies who are dealing with this in August when it gets to 95+ round these parts and there is NO WAY I could survive that. How are you handling the night sweats? (please, please say you are also waking up in pools of sweat all night because if I'm the only one I think I'll just curl up and cry)

Also? I really, really miss bending over like a normal person. I just dropped some ice on the kitchen floor and stood there looking at it for almost a full minute before I decided to just kick it under the fridge and ignore it instead of trying to pick it up.

That reminds me of when I visited my sister 3 weeks after my niece was born (c-section), and I was in my third trimester. We were in the kitchen making eggs and my sister dropped one on the floor. We both looked at it, and then each other, and then we shouted "MOM!" in unison, we knew neither one of us would be able to bend down to clean it up!

Labor vibes for you, Pearlie!!

my friend david just became the second cis guy to be certified by DONA!

that's not super pregnancy-specific, but it's good news. (:

That's really cool!

Liat, those cervix kicks were so weird! I can't believe you are already over halfway done.

Hope things get moving for you soon, Pearliepie.

I sweat at night. I always did, at least a little, especially after we got a hypoallergenic cover for our mattress. We just swapped our winter comforters out for other blankets, and have been cracking windows or turning on a fan.. I wake up several times in the night now, from being hot or because I'm snoring so loud! I get sweaty during the day, too - anywhere my my skin touches itself (like at a joint) can get uncomfortable.
But I'm only 24 weeks. Loooong waayyyy to gooooo. I hope you get to meet your baby soon!

puck, that's awesome!

So. I'm no longer pregnant obviously, but I'm STILL reeling from the hormones. I wake up every single night sweating. My pillow is truly soaked. I hate this.

When I had my ovary out I went through perimenopause, hot flashes were all the time. This is only massive sweating at night, even though I can be freezing when I get in bed.

My nausea is gone!!! Horray!! I finally feel normal and not tired and ready to enjoy this being pregnant thing.

Oh and on another note. Anybody out there ride a bike while pregnant? I've been riding mine this week (it's spring!) and it's great but wondering how long I can keep it up. Searched the interwebs and nothing really says not to. There's obvious balance issues later on but now, it seems fine. Any experiences?

So glad you're feeling better, redapple!

This blog has a lot of biking-while-pregnant posts and guest posts. I don't ride a bike, and I'm not pregnant, so I can't say from experience, but it seems like useful information. :)

I can't remember where they were but I think it was Amsterdam. There was a whole post about how since cars aren't as possible many women ride bikes to the hospital when they are ready to deliver. So I'm pretty sure it's safe to ride all the way through your pregnancy.

I sweat ALL THE TIME right after my baby was born. Every time she'd cry I'd suddenly break out into a massive sweat - it was this incredibly carnal response. It's much better now - I never sweat! (although, I think this means I am not exercising enough.. :)

And to the kicky ladies - I miss those kicks SO MUCH! There are times though that I swear I feel like.. a phantom kick. Maybe it's just my insides finally settling back into where they should be.

I was never a night-sweater before I got pregnant. When I was pregnant it was awful, and the 6 weeks after he was born I basically woke up in a pool every morning...like, I should have put water wings on before bed, seriously.

The sucky thing is that it never went all the way away for me. It's much better, but I'm definitely a night-sweater now.
