I'm thinking about doing this, insofar as I want to Make More Things in general as an ongoing aspiration, not just a resolution. I just started a flickr account today after years of resistance due to having my own webspace, but I think I want the community aspect of it for accountability purposes.
But I'll also be posting on my regular blog.
CAN DO THIS. I'm excited to see how it develops for everyone! |
Let me know when you post something up, or if you'd like a general link on my blog to your blog!
Also...this is so amazing I have so many people crafting along with me this year! Thank you so much! _________________ Well, duh, but that's no reason to abandon ship. Work and fix it

Okay! all y'all are linked up, at least for preliminary posts. I'm going to be fair to everyone and blog about this every sunday (my weeks go sunday to sunday for this project, since sundays I have downtime!) so week 1's official post will be done on the 9th and we all have a chance to catch up with each other and I'm not driving myself crazy trying to blog about this every day :)
Please check out the names I've "given" you for the links - if you prefer I'd link you as something else that's totally fine but for now I just wrote down whatever it was I thought fit best! _________________ Well, duh, but that's no reason to abandon ship. Work and fix it

Well I figured that this was a good enough reason, so I started my first blog! It's very basic, and only just on one of those free sites, but I thought that it was a good way of keeping up with what everyone else was doing!

Check out Iron Craft - they're going to do weekly challenges all year! Lots of ideas!
I'm still formulating exactly what I want to do with my projects.. I have a couple larger things that have to be done in small chunks, so should I consider each finished portion a completed craft? Or not until the whole thing is done? Do I count sketchbook drawings? etc etc. I made a list of possible things to do but didn't make a schedule. _________________ etsy shop! recent works! I'm doing small portions of larger crafts as one craft. Otherwise it'd be like one craft a year, but constant crafting and I would feel lousy about it! _________________ Well, duh, but that's no reason to abandon ship. Work and fix it

I finally sat down to get these posted (with Okac's help! This one is with the kniffty knitter - very simple scarf that motivated me to move forward with projects.

This is a close up of the stitch I did for the garland:

And here's all the garland! I really liked this as it was fun, fast and I've wanted homemade garland for a while!

I got to see the garland today (she brought it for me to see)
its SO much prettier IRL!!! I love it. And she had a cute story about making it
It didnt say how long to go before she turned around to do the other side of it so she was just guessing when she turned and ended it with about 2 feet of yarn to spare! talk about a close call! (she was stash busting her red yarn and would have had to buy more otherwise!)
Weezil, I'm interested to see the progress of your project!!
StudioMarlowe, I am impressed when anyone makes clothing... I dont think I would ever have the patience! AND also excited to see the final product.
These piece by piece projects are exciting! haha
I've just been working on the window scarves and am doing very well! faster than I thought so thats awesome! I've even cme up with a bunch of stuff to do throughout the year and have a running list on my blog :)
