Okay, guys, I need some pro help here.

After seeing the cutey patootie accessories week after week on here, I've realized how ridonkulously adorable Blythe dolls are, but I don't know a lot about them. I know we have some super Blythe fans here, like Knitty and Kendaljay and probably some other people I'm forgetting. So, Blythe me! Show off your pics, tell me where you found yours, what your favs are, whatever.

Admittedly I used to think the big-eyed look was a little creepy, but the tiny hats! And scarves! I probably won't have the cash to shell out for one any time soon, but that doesn't mean I can't drool in the meantime.

I've always liked them too. I like the 70s vibe that some of the older ones have, with the long wavy hair.

I'll be watching this thread!

Awww...I love my Blythe dolls! :) It's crazy how obsessed you get with them over time, but I just love their big heavy heads! lol.

I actually first saw them on here, Knittykat's, around 2 1/2 years ago. Of course, I thought they were super weird looking ;) but then I couldn't stop thinking about them and started looking them up on Flickr. The first time I showed them to my sister, she thought I was crazy...then she wanted one! We got our first 2 in Sept08 and our mom said we were INSANE and no way was she going to be making stupid tiny clothes for these things! (See her etsy shop for proof of how long that lasted! hah!) She got her first one on her birthday that next January. And we even managed to talk her boyfriend into buying her the newest one she wants this year!

There are so many different styles and types out there...and price ranges to match. If you are really looking to get into Blythes, I would suggest browsing Flickr and maybe joining Blythe Kingdom...lots of info there! And pretty soon, you'll be doing crazy things like making Halloween costumes for all your dolls and taking them out in public! :)

i love my dollies. i have two and they're sorely neglected.

when i was looking into getting my first doll i had a lot of fun using the blytheopedia on the this is blythe forums, and other things like it, to figure out what my optimal dolly would look like. just in case, you know? ...that's of course what led me to purchasing one, because i found a Good Deal. ...i don't really believe in buying things unless they're a Good Deal.

i have a feel the sky named beatrice bartholomew (pictured here and here, and at disneyland here), and an adg named aviva alexander (who has been mid-reroot forever, so now has fun fur hair and mostly just wears a head over her poor little scalp)... gallery of aviva

i was going to keep beatrice pristine, but then someone broke her pull-cord. so i'm not sure what to do...

I don't think they're creepy at all. I don't know what kind I'd get, but I'd probably go for the non-fantasy look, so she would be more versatile, even though the fantasy ones are gorgeous.

In theory I think they're kinda creepy, but somehow I just spent the last hour looking at pictures of them.

...That's how it starts, isn't it? XD

That geisha one is beautiful!

Soo cute! I love their little itty bitty accessories! The customization people do for them is so amazing too.
My favorite so far is the Bohemian one. if I was to buy one, I think that's what I would end up with. I love that there are SO MANY different ones for every single style and personality out there. It's really nice because most dolls tend to have such rigid style, and these are so flexible that way.

Haha yes indeed.

I started with a Pullip doll from meexie. She gave me a super mega awesome deal on her and I named her Jesa, because she has purple hair like my friend Jesa. Jesa is very different now from her original "look"; I've cut her hair and painted her face, and then I replaced her body, but she doesn't mind :-)

Then I got an ADG Love n Lace and named her Jade. I spent a lot of time justifying her, not because Mr. Knitty demanded it, but because I felt kind of silly to be a 30 year old mom with my own dollies.

Next came Jacinta, a Birdie Blue. I've kept her completely stock, except for changing her pull charm. I know she, too, happens to be a bit of a "love her or hate her" doll. I seem to be drawn to those!

Browsing on dolly boards ends up with you finding really mega awesome deals when people are selling their dolls, and sometimes you Just. Can't. Resist. This is how I ended up with Jillian. Jillian is a White Magic Night. She looks like my daughter.

Then Mr. Knitty wanted to buy me a doll for Xmas, but he wanted an in-box one. So we went with Frosty Frock, who ended up at the time being unpopular with the doll community, so she was a really great deal as well. Her name is Junie. (Juniper).

There was still one I wanted, and that was Natasha Moore. She had been very cheap when she first came out, but I didn't buy her. Then they discontinued the SBL mold and she skyrocketed in price. Took me at least a year of trolling ads to find one for a reasonable price. She was my Xmas pressie last year :-) Her name is Jackie. After Jackierocket.
