I got a PS3 and a Wii for the holidays and am looking for recommendations and game chatting! We have Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Band Hero, and I got myself Oblivion because I started it a LONG time ago and never finished. We have Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports. I'm pretty impressed with the Wii Fit -- the gf and I have both been using it at night and we love it!

And I'm veganfairy on the PS3 if any G* gamers want to be friends :]

I got a PS3 too! and Katamari Forever, because Katamari is my all-time favorite game series. We had some trouble with the PS3 (the one I ended up with is the third we tried) and the store gave us Little Big Planet for free, but I haven't started it yet. I'm linusinhats on PSN.

We've had a Wii for a long time.. I just used [regular] Wii Fit yesterday for the first time in 393 days, WHOOPS. But I do like it very much - I just hate doing it when anyone else is in the house. We also have EA Active but I've never used it.
The games I've enjoyed the most on Wii..
Wii Play
WarioWare Smooth Moves
Super Mario Galaxy
MarioKart
Godzilla Unleashed
Rampage
House of the Dead Overkill (this is the only bad language/gory one; Godzilla and Rampage are a bit violent)
I liked Elebits because it's sort of similar to Katamari - brightly colored, very cute, and DESTRUCTION - but the controls are hard to master and it gets old.
We'll probably get the New Super Mario Bros soon - I have the DS version and it is good - and I've played Wii Sports Resort and liked that. I tend toward liking the cartoony/friendly party games rather than the shooty war based ones.

The new Mario Wii (I think that's the name) is awesome. It's very much like Mario 3 and that is awesome.

Uhm.... hmm. I really like the silly games like Cooking Mama and the Trauma series.

For those of you who like to dance, I got "Just Dance" for Christmas and have been having a blast! I get to live out my 80's fantasies of dancing along to Cyndi Lauper, New Kids on the Block, and MC Hammer songs. It's also an awesome workout- I sweat way more dancing than I do with the Wii Fit.

I think it would be a super fun party game, but I have a lot of fun just dancing along by myself- but then again, I'm a big fan of dancing. Always wanted to take an organized dance class, and never have. Even though I have some fun guy friends who would have a good time playing along, I think it's a game that's definitely geared more toward females.

Thanks for the Just Dance recommendation! I originally looked into an Xbox 360 for the DDR games and dance pads but decided on PS3/Wii instead. We'll have to try it out!

My favorite is World of Goo (for the Wii or PC).

Hmmm . . . Do you want to waste a lot of time? I like the MySims games for Wii, because they're odd and cute, but because you're doing a lot of searching and building, you really get sucked in. They're also really more like kid games, so if you don't have a young inner child, they might be boring.

Raving Rabbids is awesome!! I have the original for Wii, and TV Party (which can be used with the WiiFit board), and they're so much fun. You get to beat up strange, slightly zombie rabbits!!! The games on TV Party that use the fit board are also pretty good exercize, but in a very fun way. You know the WiiFit game where you have to ski through the flags? There's a game like that, only you have to sit on the board. There's also "Pimp my Rabid", where you have to choose an outfit according to certain specifications, and it's nearly totally random- like "waterproof and bling, but not bling-bling". Such a weird game . . . !

Oh yeah, Raving Rabbids is a lot of fun.
World of Goo was one of my fiance's favorite downloads. We loooooove getting stuff off the Shop channel. We have most of the MegaMan and Zelda games, plus Bubble Bobble, ToeJam & Earl, Golden Axe, California games, etc

oh I forgot about DDR! I have two versions for the Wii and its awesome. Being someone who did a lot of DDR'ing way back when, I find it really hard to remember to move my hands with the wiimotes though.

Play Braid! The story is neat, the music is stellar, and it's beautiful!

BTW if anyone is interested in PC gaming from Steam, now is the time, as everything is running on really good holiday sales.

Mooninthetrees, my boys just got MySims Agents and Raving Rabbids Go Home- RR is hilarious! They have another Rabbids game, and they want the TV Party game since you can play with your butt on the Wii Fit board.

Aargh, I wish I had time to play! I used to kick arse on my NES circa 1986 ;)
