|
|
So, I was talking to a few other New Yorkers in another thread about meeting up sometime. I'm new to the area and would love to meet some Glitterati in the city!
I am willing to help organize an event, but don't live in a big enough place to host. Is anyone up for that? or does anyone know a good place where we could get together and talk/craft/snack/sip together?
Who's in?? |

yayayayay!
sorry, i'd been meaning to post about this earlier, but been super duper busy and had houseguests and blah blah blah, so i've not had much time to think about it, really.
but anyway, i am totally down to hang out, my apt is pretty tiny but big enough to have some people over if that's what we want to do... i'd just have to plan around my roommate not being here so we don't disrupt her too much.
but anyway, let's keep talking.
should we start with general dates/times that might work for everyone? _________________ To a detached person the complication of the involved life

So jealous :)
One of my friends is on exchange somewhere in New York at the moment, and I have been looking through her facebook photos of her in the city wishing I was there too.
Have lots of fun! _________________ Post reviewed by the Ministry of Truth |

yeah, no reason to be shy! yes, gigi was on the other thread, so hopefully she'll see this one and get on board. also on my list to recruit are aunt agonist (she said she was in before), anna (before she moves to austin!), and littlespacebug.
i'm free pretty much any evening. i have the luxury of being underemployed at the moment! (i'm trying to make it fun so i don't stress out about it). there are a couple weekends coming up that i may be out of town though.
ashular, that's awesome of you to offer up your place! what dates/times would be good for you? |

Hi! I'd meet up. Don't forget Chupacabra is in NY too.
I'm freelancing for work now and therefore free all the time too. I'll be completely honest and say I prefer to meet up in the city over Brooklyn, since I'm coming from Queens...but let me know how things pan out. I'm going away from oct 10-17 (chupa too).
woo! |

i'm down! although i'm out of town from the 3rd to the 10th of october ...
would also be happy to offer up my place. i think it's pretty near ashulars? in brooklyn, about a block from the B/Q train. my roommie is sociable, don't think she'd mind. _________________ Specializing in dresses and sanity

| I'd be down! I'm not in the city though - I'd be coming from Long Island. And my schedule is very funky, especially since I'm about to start working. But I'd LOVE to meet some NYC Glitters! |

October is going to be really crappy for me - work is busy and we're down some people. Lots of special events on the weekends.
Plus, I'm hoping to move at the end of the month (Chupa + LSB, I'm looking at Astoria if you hear about any places...) so I have to pack.
BUT! I'll try to make it if possible. Glitterparties are fun! _________________ Are you familiar with the old robot phrase "DOES NOT COMPUTE"? |

woo aryn! What kind of apartment are you looking for? I ended up getting a broker to find my place, and while it was the first apt I saw and the broker made a really easy months rent off me, it was kind of worth it. No finding a place and having the landlord give it to someone else before I could sign the lease, no making appointments to see something and getting there only to find out the place was gone already, etc.
I've been seeing a few people post about 2 bdrs on astorians.com. |

hm, so it sounds like maybe we should wait until after the 17th..
let's take a vote.. weeknight or weekend? and then we can narrow down a date. |
