Is your business ad on your car? And if so, have you ever been contacted about something that happened while you were driving?
This hasn't happened to me but I had a traffic "incident" this morning and my web address is on the back window of my car (and it's huge - it's the whole window). I started thinking about what I would do if the guy emailed me to bitch at me about it. Would you answer? |

honestly? I've called the number because the lady cut me off massively. and, yeah, I wasn't nice. and i told her she should consider the fact that her freakin' phone number was on the back of her car before she cuts off someone else. I was just bored (passenger) but seriously, there are some crazies out there, and with the internets, who knows how much stuff you could do with that? _________________ And once you've seen it, keeping quiet, saying nothing, becomes as political an act as speaking out. -Arundhati Roy |

I work at a chain steakhouse, and I got a call from a crazed driver demanding the corporate number so he could file a complaint about a delivery driver that cut him off on the road. Too bad we don't have delivery drivers... We just gave him the number.
And I have personally followed a van from a construction company that clipped a girl's car in the parking lot to write down the company info and license tag for her. So I would be wary of behaving badly with your company on display. If someone is displaying their company info on their car, I assume it means they are looking for more customers. While we all make mistakes, I wouldn't be inclined to do business with a company who cut me off or almost ran into me on the road.
You can always get those removable magnetic signs for your doors, so you can take them off and hide them when you just want to be a regular person driving a regular car. _________________ Don't forget to be awesome.

I second this idea. Some of the taxis here have them when the driver owns their own cab, so that it's not a taxi when they're using it as their family car.
You can get magnetic paper that you can print yourself using a home printer. I made a fridge scrabble set out of it. I haven't tried it outdoors yet, but it wasn't horrendously expensive (from memory it was NZ$13 for 5 A4 sheets). |
