I'm wasting time at my computer today, but thought maybe I could provide something helpful for someone....
I just found some cool websites for parents and thought I'd share. Please add your own favorites, and tell us what you like most about them.
Thanks to skybluepink's link in another thread, I found ParentHacks, which I love, partly because I can click on links directed at Preschoolers, or at 6-7 year olds, which are the ones I need right now, and bypass the baby-oriented ones or teen-oriented ones. They're also all very quick reads with links to the originating sites. (I love that they don't pretend the ideas are all theirs.)
And someone here at Glitter introduced me to kiddley, which I *adore* for its easy craftiness and relevance! I mean, sometimes I've got the time and energy to channel Martha, and sometimes I just want something fast and easy, and kiddley's got it for me.
For motivation, I just found The Manifesto Project, where people can read others' and post their own 500-word parenting manifesto.
Which reminds me of another favorite which I've posted here before -- Scott Noelle's Daily Groove, which has short daily ... meditations, I'd guess I'd call them ... about parenting. He's a believer in the Law of Attraction, and that's a great way to go about parenting, in my opinion. I've subscribed to his free daily e-mails, so I seldom go to the website, but it's great to look up old ones that you want to remember better.
Mombian, for lesbian moms, and LesbianDad for non-birth-mothers! I've got a husband, but I'm still pretty damned queer, so I love that these sites exist and I can lurk there and pick up relevant news and ideas without scaring the locals.
Now I've gotten distracted multiple times, so I'll close this post as-is. But please, post your own favorites![/url] _________________ "Struggle is obsolete." -- my friend Barbara |

LuciMama, I'm glad you're enjoying Parent Hacks. It's a fun site.
I agree with jktaylor - Ask Moxie rocks. I love her parenting style, and her advice is very helpful.
I recently found http://appleturnover.tv/ and I like what I've seen so far a lot.
I also like:
http://www.bloggingbaby.com/
http://coolmompicks.com/
http://www.babygadget.net/
...though the last two seem to be more about shopping than parenting!
Can't wait to check out other glitter moms' recommendations! _________________ goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere. |

I don't have much to add since so many great sites have been mentioned but strollerderby, http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/default.aspx, is usually amusing. _________________ we're still awesome (and by awesome, i mean dorky but supportive) -the boy |
