For a veggie burger to taste like a veggie burger I like gardenburger.
For a veggie burger to taste like a meaty burger I like morningstar better burgers. I had one for dinner tonight and it doesn't have that aftertaste of bocas. _________________ Sew Damn Glad. |

Meadow, you make a good point to differentiate between "meaty" and non-meaty!
for non-meaty, I love Dr. Praegers
for "meaty", I like Boca Burger Flame Grilled |

I like president's choice portabello & swiss veggie burgers. These are meaty without being heavy or dry.
Lick's (the restaurant) sells their nature burgers in some grocery stores now. Those are quite good too.
I've also heard that schneider's does a good job with their veggie burgers, but I've never tried them. |

I'm a big fan of the Money's mushroom burgers...the flavour that comes in the pink box (I have no idea what it's called) - more flavour than the regular, plain green box variety.
For one that I'm going to 'make' myself, I loooooooooooove the kind that comes in powder form in a box (Nature's Choice, I think). You add hot water to it, and shape your own patties. To me, it makes it seem more like an authentic burger since it's thick and rounded instead of the cardboard shapes of most pre-made veggie burgers.
ETA: Ok, the second one is actually by Fantastic Foods:
Editted for the last time b/c the picture sucked!
Here's a website that shows Money's lineup of veggie bugers. The kind I liked....flame roasted something or the other, seems to have disappeared from their lineup...which means that I MUST go stock up now!
Mmmmm Money's

i second the nature's choice make it yourself type burger. you can add onions, shallots, etc for taste and texture and they come out so great.
i also LOVE gardenburger southwestern style burgers, esp with avocado and corn salad on the side. yummy. _________________ "what would we be without wishful thinking?" - wilco |

non-meaty: money's mushroom (green box, but they have cheese in them)
meaty: Yves burgers that look like meat (I forget what they are called) _________________ visit my new etsy shop!

| Garden Burger "Diner Deluxe", though I haven't seen that variety around lately. I hope it hasn't been discontinued! Their "Flame Grilled" burgers are my second choice. |

The Morningstar farms Philly Cheesesteak burgers are really, really good.
Off topic but their mini-corn dogs are way addictive, too... |
