Sorry if this is a duplicate question - couldn't find it with the search function, I tried several searches.
Ooohkay. My mom actually has a crafty history, and is getting back into crocheting. (She used to be quite good.)
She wants the poncho pattern from MS, the one she wore when she left prison. I found a lookalike pattern on the Red Lion website, is this close enough? I printed this one out already, and I can just send this.
Could someone please let me know if you sign up with Marthastewart.com, do you get a whole lotta Martha spam? I don't like the idea of signing up for only one poncho pattern, and then having lots of spam I don't want...plus, I've had trouble finding stuff on her site, even before the whole "you need to sign in" thing.
Anyway, if anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks very much, glitterati! And again, apologies if this is a duplicate post. ladyjane. _________________ NOTE: ladyjane is not that smart. She just googles v. v. quickly!

There was a pattern called 'coming home poncho' on www.lionbrand.com
I signed up on Martha Stewart's website a long time ago and I never got any spam. _________________ "Fun is where you find it" - jackierocket |

Hi! Just wanted to give a mini-update.
I printed off the crochet version of the "Coming Home" pattern from the Red Lion website, then mailed it to my mom.
Mom called me to thank me, and told me it was the exact pattern she wanted. :)
So, this seems to be the poncho, if not a very, very good lookalike!
Thanks again, all! :) ladyjane
***Edit: The pattern's on the site knittykat linked to, in case anyone else was interested in printing the PDF...hey, it's free, so why not? _________________ NOTE: ladyjane is not that smart. She just googles v. v. quickly!

on topic comment:
i printed out a pattern from bernat's website that had instructions for both crochet & knitted versions.
semi-off-topic comment:
for some reason it strikes me as hilarious and very martha that there is a craze to make the poncho that she LEFT PRISON IN. (myself included, no finger-pointing here)
"why look drab when leaving prison? you, too, can look fabulous with my easy and very fashionable "prison release poncho" pattern. it's a good thing."

Which is what totally cracks me up - my mom was one of those 100% Martha Haters. (Because Martha acted all snooty, and like she never made any mistakes.)
I think since Martha went in the slammer, my mom's suddenly OK with MS...or at least, with this project. Hee! _________________ NOTE: ladyjane is not that smart. She just googles v. v. quickly!
