Crochet and Hyperbolic Space
I've always said crochet is extremely sculptural. It turns out that an effective way to understand the crenellation of lettuce leaves or the shape of the cosmos is through crochet! If your in the NYC area on Sat Feb 5th, 5pm there is a talk co-organized by Cabinet magazine and the Institute for Figuring (Los Angeles) called Crocheting the Hyperbolic Plane. Sounds like I found my people. For details go to http://www.cabinetmagazine.org/events/crocheting.php
