Walter Ruffler is a groovy German ex-parliamentarian who makes complicated moving models out of cardboard. Many of these are pneumatic systems with pistons and pumps and bellows all made from paper. Ruffler's enthusiasm for his craft survives the occasionally-awkward translation from German. Compressed air for his expanding wedding cake, for instance, "is produced by a jerkey blowing into the air channel." At last, a use for my jerkey! In all seriousness, check it out. Many of his models are available as inexpensive kits.
