Craft Fairs Galore!

This Sunday is the Urban Craft Uprising sale in Seattle. Stop by the Artists' Gallery between noon and 6 pm on November 6--the first 100 people in the door get rockin goodie bags, too.

And don't forget to check out the fabulous Holiday Craftacular if you're in New York! BUST magazine is inviting DIYers to sell their cool handmade work from noon to midnight on December 17 at Warsaw. DJs, dancing, cocktails and free admission to shoppers all day and night!

Too bad you can't be on both coasts sometimes...

Tale of Two Artsy Houses

Tale of Two Artsy Houses

First, we have the amazing work of Korean artist Do-Ho Suh, who re-created his entire childhood home -- actual size, and right down to the light switches -- in sewn fabric.

And then there's this gorgeous modernist dollhouse.

Both via Boing Boing.

Five types of knitting blogs

Five types of knitting blogs

Kristel, a Finnish crafter, has divided knitting blogs into five categories:
- How-to blogs that show the process how ideas transform to ready-made products;
- Porfolio blogs that display finished projects;
- Communal blogs where knitters share daily experiences with friends;
- Mixed blogs that also feature other things outside knitting;
- Amusing blogs that report on knitting in a diverting way.

"These categories should not be taken too seriously", she writes. "One blog can belong to several categories."
